Sweet Potato something!

This year at Thanksgiving we spent with my parents. It was our first official turkey day together since we got married. We usually had been going to his mom's house but this year we went to mine. His mom always made him a sweet potato pie w/the marshmallows thing. I had never made it before. And....I forgot to get a recipe for it before I went up to my mom's house. (She has no computer! ) So............I experiemented and this is what I did:

Peeled, cut up, and then boiled my sweet taters
When tender, I drained them and put them back in the pot
Added 3 sticks of melted REAL butter (.......it was a lot of taters, honestly)
Sprinkled in quite a bit of brown sugar, then some nutmeg and cinnamon
Kept tasting it to see how much tasted good!
Once it was good and mashed and mixed, I spread it into a cake pan
I put a whole bag of mini marshmallows on top
Put it in the oven and broiled it to melt the marshmallows

THE VERDICT FROM MY DH:

Better than his mom's!!!

(And it must have been true as he ate seconds AND leftovers the next day which is something he NEVER does!)
