Am I going to live thought the teen years?

AHHHHHHHHH I am already to pull my hair out with my 13 year old. She talks to me like I am on of her

at school. If I hear talk to the hand mom or blow me mom one more time i am going to blow up

She makes me so mad i have tryed to talk to her

and it goes though one ear and out the other. and Blound's well she has darker hair but had colored it over the summer lighter and i think the coloring went to her brain she is such a air head.
She comes home from school

about her day and complans that supper is not ready for her when she gets home. Sorry drama

that your meal is not waiting for you.
And color guard! well its ok but the teacher for it errrrrrrr she is a well you get my point right!

And i just can't deal with her going and forgetting things she takes with her. last year she stunck out her cd's and someone stold them all (we got them back and we always knew who had them)
But it just P's me off. And i think some times i am just going to drop over some time and they would still be

at me as i lay there dead on the floor.

Hang in there sweeties , Most of the things your daughter is doing is just to get a rise out of you.
And apparently it is working.
Let the BIG things bother you & the little things roll off of your back . Yes I know how infuriating the hand is...
When my daughter started copying that off of people she knew I asked her " Do you REALLY want to see the back of my hand ? " Needless to say I don't get the hand anymore

But the rest of the stuff I dont let bother me it's all part of irritating parents & growing up.

Good luck, but you will make it!!! Teenagers need to find themselves and try almost anything until they find who they really are.

I agree with Evelevo too, she is testing you and seeing how far she can push you!

My oldest came home the other day and told me that there are 3 10th greaders in her high school that are having babys.

I was very mad about hearing this don't there parents teach them safe sex around here. I was so mad and had a talk with her about this and told her i would love to see her wait to have sex with her husband the man that she marry's. even thought she says now that she doen't want a man to hold her down that she has things she wants to do and she doens't need a man to slow her down. That can change over night. But i hope she stickes to that. she need's to put her needs first before anything else.
And she has been picking up bad behaver from going to her fathers and there is nothing i can really do about it. Becouse of were he lives there is a 15 year old and a 18 year old girl living there with there so called mother. I don't like how she sounds when she comes back from there. The word LIKE is used to much when she talks.

We're raising my SD, also 13, and if she EVER said "blow me" or "talk to the hand" she'd not see the light of day for a month.

If she's saying that now, I cannot imagine what it will be like 3 years from now. I would put a stop to that and QUICK!!!

It is very hard to know where to draw the line, what to make a big deal of and what not to...really, I have just learned this myself since having gotten custody of her about a year ago. You want them to be individuals, but as parents we HAVE to realize that they do NOT have the capablity to make the smartest choices and the best decisions for themselves. My way of thinking is that we need to be up their butts 24/7 and make sure that they get away with as little as possible, but also let them have the fun they need to have at that age. NEVER EVER EVER take anything for granted...like that they won't have sex or won't drink or do drugs just because they say they won't.

My SD used to come home with an attitude after being with her mother until we let her know real quick that she better shed that attitude at the door. We treat her with love and respect and she will treat us the same.

I agree with Sherri do not let her talk to you like that, my daughter at that age did all kinds of defiant things but she knew better than to talk to me in that manner. Some parents think that is a phaze and it will go away some of it will but, the back talk does not and she needs to be reminded that, you put her on this earth. That sort of behavior should not go unpunished believe me I have been there. She is 28 and she does not talk back to me to this day in any form. In this house talking back is not allowed. I learned a while ago that, I needed to put fear in my daughter's heart so she would be an individual and never imitate her

. She always knew that I was not the one. Which means I am not the permissive parent and never will. Always stand your ground as I said before, you put her on this earth and yes you will survive I did. I have to I will go to that ground again in my late 50's my younger daughter is 7 now. I already got the heart medication on layaway

One day they were so bad i called my mom and asked right in front of them if she wanted to sell her grave plot becouse there going to place me in a early grave if they don't straten up! You should have seen there faces!
