Thanks Mickie, we had a good weekend. We babysat all day Saturday our 9 month old grandson and then his parents took him home and he came back at 8pm. they attended a wedding. The little guy was so good as usual. He fell a just before they came to get him but he went home and slept all night. Tiffany said he was really good.
We have him tomorrow and two other days this week. Too bad moms and dads have to work, they miss out on so much but then us grandparents get to see it all now.

Thanks Mickie, Hope you had a good weekend. I did. We went camping. It ended up just being me and the hubby. The girls had other plans and since I was feeling VERY stressed it was nice to just kind of chill. DeeDee, I got to play with my metal detector a little bit. Found part of a pop can, some tinfoil and a wire, . At least I am getting the hang of it. I was walking along the river and some man said he used to go out detecting all the time and found some great stuff. He said colleges are a good place but I don't think I'll get access to one, you have to have permssion from the guards. But I'll come up with something. We went and looked at boats yesterday. Randy is thinking about getting a small boat but I'm just not sure when we would find time to use it. Iguess we would just have to make time, huh? Oh well, we'll see, he may change his mind. It would be nice but I just have to wonder about the time issue. We go camping every other weekend and the other weekends are for catching up around here and there are alot of projects we need to get done this summer. We went to the flea market up by camp, got some good deals so that is always fun. Well, Mickie, was your weekend good? DeeDee, it sounds like yours was fun. Aren't babies wonderful? I am sure you had a great time.

Smile Hello...

I'm glad you both had a good weekend. DeeDee, I know you just love that baby! Thank God for Grandparents. I don't know what my kids would do without my mom and dad. Polly, I just love camping, flea markes too. I had a good weekend, even know the weather wasn't so good. Sat. my 6 year old had a B-Day party to attend, and Sunday I wound up replanting cucumber plants because my ground hog friend ate the first crop down to the root! Well that problem was solved. My dad caught him in a friendly trap, and released him down by where he works.. Little bugger did some job on my flowers and veggies.. OOO well I guess everything has to eat. Have a good week and I'll talk to you all soon enough. HUGS

My weekend can anyone say asthma? My daughter had it so my weekend was shot. I was going to the 116th Street Festival, that is a preclude to the Puerto Rican Day Parade here in New York, she cried because, she could not see JLo in person. We were all ready to show our pride and asthma came in. Anyway we watched it on tv and she is feeling better now. Today, my cousin comes from Puerto Rico I haven't seen him in 33 years. As you all know my husband the ogre already put a damper on it. He says that, I should not go see him today to wait until he has a day off. Mind you my cousin will only be here until Friday. His day off is Thursday. So mean spirited.

You have no how much we love our grandsons Mickie and Polly. They are the lights of our lives. Just to hold a little human like that and know he is an extension of yourself is wonderful. To see the beam in my son's eyes when they are with their sons is something I tell you. Your day will come and you will know what I mean.

Luz, 33 years is a long time not to see someone. I do hope you get to see him before Thursday and are able to spend some time with him. Your hubby shouldn't be like that but some people are and not much we can do about it. Just enjoy your time with him when you get to see him.

I have an aunt coming on Saturday to stay with us until Tuesday and I haven't seen her in about 33 years also. I am very excited about it.

Hi Everybody! My day will come DeeDee, but I hope not to soon LOL.... Luz, I'm glad your daughter is feeling better. That asthma is no joke. 33 years is a very long time not to see someone. I hope you had a wonderful visit, and let us know how you made out... Hugs...

Yes Mickie your day will come. I never thought I would ever get to be a grandma. My oldest son was 34 when his son was born. He never thought he ever would have a son. My middle son married a girl who had two boys already and he has none of his own yet. Her boys call us grandma and grandpa. Then my oldest son met a girl who also had two boys and they call us grandma and grandpa. So we have 6 grandsons but only two biological so far.
My oldest son has a son and my youngest son has a son and the new baby on the way. If my middle son's wife ever gets the reversal done, she has a 98% chance of getting pregnant again. It costs $3000 to have the surgery done though so it might be a while. It would be nice to see my son have at least one of his own. Someday maybe.

So yes your day will come too. Just not toooooo soon.

Hi everyone, I haven't been in for a couple of days. Had some computer problems, apparently verizon is working on the lines in the area so we didn't have service. Mickie, to hear about your groundhog doing a number on your plants. I can relate. Right now it is squirrels and racoons getting mine but that is my fault. I should not have planted them around the bird feeders. I just wasn't thinking. I bought some clemantis plants and thought oh won't that be pretty, them climbing up the bird feeder poles and the birds would like them there, not even remembering that the squirrels come everyday and eat and the coons come at night to eat. Soooo definitley my fault. I only have tomatos and green peppers planted in my garden this year , so far nothing has bothered them although I saw a couple of deer walk down past the garden the other so I will have to watch when they start blooming. . Gotta love my critters. Luz, I'm glad your daughter is feeling better. That had to be so scarey and disappointing for you all. I hope you enjoy your visit with your cousin. DeeDee, I would say your grandchildren are very lucky to have you and your hubby for grandparents. Thankfully our parents are like you but I have seen some that just do not appreciate their grandchildren at all. I intend to fully enjoy mine when my day comes!
Mickie, we are going camping again this weekend. We usually go every other weekend but my dd has her play the following weekend so we are going to go this weekend again. I am going to hit the goodwill store up there to hopefully find some items for her costumes. She has to have 4 different outfits for this play, so far. Everyday the teacher comes up with something different and they are very detailed outfits so this is not going to be cheap. She has to have a gown for one scene, we are hoping to borrow one. She had to have black jazz pants and long sleeve shirt for another outfit. My mom took her to a consignment shop yesterday and found that outfit. Now we need two more plus shoes, ugh! Maybe I will be lucky and find a bunch of yardsales too!! My DH is going fishing with a buddy sat. and the girls are driving up to camp sat. so hopefully the three of us can go "" while he is fishing. If not, he will just have to chill out at the camper,. Anyway, this is not going to be the care free weekend like last weekend but that's ok, I'll be very happy if we can find everything we need. Especially since dress rehearsal is Monday, I think, . yeah, I'm cutting it close.

Smile Hello...

Your a real Angel DeeDee! There are not many Grammys out there who would accept wholeheartedly. A lot of people treat or ignore kids differently when the are not biological. I don't understand why. I'm glad you show so much care for all, you are special! Polly, I hope you find everything you need this weekend. Hopefully you'll find it quick and can still have one whole relaxing day.. What type of fishing does your hubby do? Have a safe trip...

Thanks ladies. Mickie, the way we look at it, kids don't understand what is happening when they are from a broken family so any way we can make their lives a little easier is what we try to do.
My sons have both accepted their step sons as their own and if they can do it there is no reason on earth why we should not do the same.
One of our "grandsons" we met when he was only 1 1/2 years old, cute as a button and to this day he is so close to my hubby. He comes every day to see what he can him with. Today he took wheel barrows full of sand into the back yard and dumped it for my hubby. He is a hard little worker and hubby pays him for what he does. Keeps him off the streets too.
The other "grandson" was 4 when we met him. He knows my son is not his father but calls him dad and loves him just the same.
My other son has two kids that were 4 and 8 when we met them. They both were shy but have come around and both call us grandma and grandpa. They are good kids.
It can get confusing sometimes with 4 of our grandsons having different names than my sons but in time it might change. The biological fathers have to give their consent for my sons to adopt and so far they both refuse to do that. Maybe one day.

Oh well, I have rattled on enough here. I am tired out. We had the baby today again and he was sooo good. He is such a delight to have around. Every time I change his diaper, when its done and I pick him up, I say to him, "Aiden, what does grandma get now?" He then gives me a . He is one smart little guy. We have tomorrow off and have the baby Friday again. He sure can keep us young but pooped out too. LOL

Smile Hello...

You hit all my feelings about the situation right on he nose DeeDee.. Have fun with the baby today... Your right, they can tire you out quick. It's a good tired though. Today is the boys last day of school... I would so much rather them be home! GEEZ... The school year seems neverending... We are having a little cake for Dustin, because he is graduating kindergarten. I was disappointed that the school didn't have any type of ceramony for the little guys. My sil only lives one town away, and Jareds class had a little party and recieved a cute diploma. Well I'm hoping the sun comes outcuz Dalton is going camping with Poppy for three days.. He has been so excited for this day to come. Enjoy your Friday all.....
