Mickie, glad to see you back. I was getting worried about you. I'm glad you got the heating/A/C taken care of. Wow that was a long time. I have a question, how do you 'go crabbing' ? I'm not sure I want to get near a crab that can pinch me, .

I'm not doing anything special this weekend, was supposed to go camping but DH is too . I'm glad though. I think I have a touch of it, a little sore throat , s and VERY tired, so it is good to be home and get some rest. I'm getting a little bit of work done that I wanted to do too. I just do a little then rest and read the do a little more. So at least I am getting something done.

Hugs to all!

Smile Hello....

DeeDee it sure enough did take them long enough to get it in.... Of course due to the set back of parts one day, and the electrician not showing up another, progress came to a stand still two days in a row.. But it's over now and it's working great. Funny part is that since it was installed, the weather has been so beautiful we haven't had to use it...Your To funny Polly, Crabbing goes like this.... You have a crab trap, it's a wire square trap that opens up when it hits the bottom of the bay. There is a rope on the top of the trap to throw it into the water, and pull it back in after about 3 or 4 minutes. As your quickly pulling the trap in, the doors all close so the crabs can't get out. When you get the trap over the dock you keep the rope tight so the trap doesn't open... See what sized crabs you caught. If they are to small, just let the trap open on the dock, and they just run back over the dock and into the water. Now comes the tricky part... The kids all use BBQ tongs to put the big guys in the bucket... This way they can't get pinched... OK an "ol pro" like myself just grabs them by one of their back fiddler legs, and drops them in the keeper bucket.... Too funny explaining this over my .... My brother always saves all the fish heads and tails from what he's caught during the week. This way we have crab bait.. OOO yea you wire tie the bait to the bottom of the trap... Anyway, if good ol bro had a bummer week fishing, we either stop and buy en backs from the food store, or moss bunker from the bait shop.... Luckily Fluke is running, and he's been doing pretty good. I can't wait to et my butt on the Fluke boat in Augest. The largest fish wins a pretty good prize.... Have a great weekend all.... HUGS

Hey Mickie that sounds like fun and good luck in August, hope you catch the biggest fish ever! I used to go cohauging (sp??) with my grandma when I was a little girl, I loved doing that, didn't like to eat em but sure had alot of fun with my grandma, good memories. A couple of years ago we went to visit in R.I. and took my husband out to try it, he got bit by some worm, it stuck to his finger, wasn't letting go, That was the end of that! Even I didn't want to do it anymore, . One time when I was a little girl we got into a big sand at the beach, well I guess we stirred up the crabs cuz all of a sudden we were grabbing for sand and got crabs and got pinched, . That is why I had an image of getting pinched by them ol crabs when you said you were going crabbing. But boy I sure would love to give your version a try!! Thanks for sharing with me. Hugs.

That was quite a lesson there Mickie. I have never done that either but then again I probably never would as I don't eat crab or lobster or shrimp or any of that kind of stuff.
I hope you catch the biggest fish ever too. That I love doing.

Thanks Mickie, yes those memories are very much in my heart. I was VERY close to my Grandma, I was even born on her birthday so we celebrated every year together until she passed away. She was soooo good to all of her grandkids. My other grandmother lived for many years and I could never get real close to her, she liked the oldest kids in the family and I was the youngest. We got along real good when she got altzheimers. I do have some good memories with her too though and I just choose to remember them.

Smile Hello.....

~~~ Hi Polly, I also was close to my Grandma and Grandpa on my moms side. She was great! I called her Gram, and she called me Chip... Short for C.C. Cookie. When my Grandpa died I lived with my Grandma and took care of her until she died. Now, when I had my children I taught them to call my mom Chip. They were raised knowing her as Grammy... Too funny cuz my 10 year old calls her "The Wood Chipper." I also don't know of my Grandma on my dads side either. He came froma very big family of 16 brothers and sisters.... I don't know an of them, only that most, I think are from Michagen...Have a good day!!!! Hi DEEDEE!!!!
We used to call my grandmother on my dads side gravelgirty, , my cousin came up with the name but one day my grandmother had a fit about it and my dad got mad at us and made us quit calling her that. My cousins were allowed to keep calling her that but we weren't. It was funny later in years but at the time it made me mad, . I have no how my cousing came up with that name. I guess you never know what kids will do, huh?
Good Morning everyone, I haven't been in for a few days, been kind of busy around here. Got a spiral perm in my hair on sat. and yesterday we had a cookout for my dd and fil's B-days. Today I am soooooooooo tired. Didn't want to get up but at 5:20 I got woke up with a horrible charlie horse in my leg. Boy did I squall and carry on while trying to reach it to work it out but of course it hurt too much to touch. Great start to a monday, huh? Now I just want to crawl back into bed and for the rest of the day, . Well, I hope you all have a great day. Hugs
~~~ Hi Polly, Sorry about your Charlie Horse.... I hope it's all worked out by now... I no they can linger on. Kinda like a dull pain, thats more annoying then hurtful. I hope you and your family had a wonderful Birthday BBQ. Did you guys get them a present, or was the BBQ party a big celebration. I do that with my dad cuz he has everything and is tough to shop for. Especially since his B-Day is shortly after Christmas......Hugs.......

Hi Mickie, you are right about the charlie horse hanging on. My leg hurt all day yesterday. And I had to do a route check for work yesterday. Drove over 150 miles. I don't think that ed but it is better now, thanks.
We do get presents. It is hard though with the parents. We gave my DD a 'gift certificate' that I made up promising her money for vacation. We'll give it to her then so she doesnt spend it now. . We got my FIL a shirt that he had been looking at at walmart on sat. when he was there with my DH gettin my tires put on. He said 'how did you do that, Randy?' we had to , I actually bought it Sunday when I went and got the stuff for the party, we also got him some lottery tickets to scratch. It was a really good day.

Birthdays around Christmas are hard! My dad's is Dec. 1st, my DH's is Dec. 14, my nephews is Dec. 16th. , so I know what you mean and then we have a couple in Jan. it gets really . And like you said with it being so close to Christmas you don't know what to get because they just got stuff. I think parents are just grateful to have us remember so a party is enough. If I can't think of anything else I always get lottery tickets, . Everyone has fun scratching them off.

I wonder where DeeDee is? She hasn't been in for a while, hmmm.
