This is written in the Hebrew Talmud, the book
where all of the sayings and preaching of
Rabbis are conserved over time.
It says: "Be very careful if you make a woman , because God counts her tears. The woman
came out of a man's rib. Not from his feet to be
walked on. Not from his head to be superior, but
from the side to be equal. Under the arm to be
protected, and next to the heart to be loved."

Thank you for reminding me of that saying. Living in New York City you come across a lot Jews and Rabbis. I will quote that one to my husband. I heard it once a long time ago in school from one of my teachers. Believe me I was in high school believe me it was a loooooooooong time ago. . I'll fess up the year it was in 1973. Get out your disco ball.
