Vanilla Sugar
Ingredients:
1 cup granulated sugar or fine baking sugar
1 vanilla bean
Add the bean pod after you have used the seeds in a recipe, to the sugar and keep in a covered container. You can use the sugar, and just keep adding more to the jar, keeping the bean in at all times, for about 6 months. It needs about a week for the flavors to join.You can also grind the bean and add to the sugar, place in a decorative jar, and give as a gift. The longer the sugar sets, the stronger the flavor will become. Remember, to keep the container air tight.
