Project Salute Our Tr

Please pass this along….
My name is Cherie and I am working on another cookbook. In 1991, I published "Tasty Treasure from Okinawa" with the

of Walter's Cookbooks. The funds were used to

military families in Okinawa.
My new projects is a "Salute Our Tr

" Cookbook. All proceeds from the cookbook (less administrative costs to produce the cookbook) will be donated to support our tr

and their families, i.e., Care packages for our tr

(
www.4thetrops.net), Grocery certificates for service families in need (
http://www.commissaries.com/certificheck/index.cfm), and Operation Helmet (
http://www.operation-helmet.org/) to name a few. Obviously, the more cookbooks that sell, the more we can do to

our tr

and their families.
Why am I doing this?
I have been a military spouse for 20 years and I spent the last 10 years as an Ombudsman. I was Ombudsman at NSGA Hanza in Okinawa, Ombudsman of the USS Leyte Gulf, and most recently (until end of 03), Ombudsman at NSGA Denver.
Our military service families need all the

they can get. Trust me, I could tell your stories that would make you cringe, but it is a life that we choose, so we deal with everything in the best way we know how.
I have always volunteered wherever we were stationed, due to a serious auto accident, I have been inactive. I was trying to think of something I could do around all of my limitations. Everyone loves cookbooks and everyone loves to see their names in books and it is easy… as long as everyone sends their recipes and stories!
I am requesting the following submissions:
1. Your service member's favorite recipe.
Please include the name of the service member; branch of service; active, retired, or
Reserves or dates of service; your relationship to the member (spouse, friend, mom,
dad, brother,...etc)
and if you would like, a special message to your service member
2. Stories involving your service member.
3. Letters from or to your service member.
4. Comments, messages or any other little detail about or to the service member.
Feel free to submit a recipe in memory of or in honor of a service member who is no longer with us as well.
Everyone who submits a recipe, story, letter, etc, will receive a 50% discount on the completed cookbook.
PLEASE DO NOT SEND ORIGINALS because I can not return them.
