ok this is a complacated issue. my son with cp goes to a preschool out of town about 20 -25 mins away. the county i live in is resonsable for the busing . all school year he was being picked up at 8 am program started at 8:45 so i was fine with that. well summer school started and they added another child to the route and they now are picking him up at 7:30. i have expressed my concerns and they have told me that its ok for him to be on the bus for 90 mins. i disagree 90 mins is to long for any child. any one have any thoughts?

The summer bus schedule here is a mess. My son takes the bus to school and he starts at 8 bus picks him up at 7:00 am. He spends an hour on the bus. He is in special ed and he says that, by the time they all get to school, everyone is cranky and tired. I am not looking forward to September because, he will have to leave the house at 6:00 am. His school is farther away. I don't know how familiar you are with your school district but, I suggest you go there and speak with the parent advocate every school distric has one or a few. I dont think 90 mins is right thats a long time for any child and worse for children with disabilities. My son ian has special needs but is on a reg. bus with his brother and sister he has sensory problems. and just being on the bus for 40 min is a lot for him hopefully when his school starts they will have him on a normal sched.

That is over an hour!!! NO WAY- I would raise hell. No child should be on a bus that long. Besides... does this bus have seat belts? I worry about a long ride on a bus with no seat belts. The buses around here do not have them so I will be taking Brooke to school.
