Does anyone else have kids in a catholic school? I love ours but the constant fundraisers, ugh!! We have three going on right now!! Candy, market day, and a discount card for around this area!!!! Everytime I call and family they are like "What is Christopher selling today!!"
My son is not in Catholic scholl but we do our share of fundraising too. We also have Market day every month, for Christmas and Easter we sell Anderson candy, (this is called a convience sale, not a funraiser, whatever) and now we are doing a "gym Jog". This is the easiest on since I don;t have to go out ad deliver anything and the school keeps 100% of the money. Last year we raised $9000 on that one. Also, he is in scouts and selling overpriced popcorn. Does it ever end?

My 8 yr old goes to a public school and fundraising has been one of my biggest pet peeves. We do Market Day which I am ok with and every month on pick up day.
What I don't like is how they herd all the kids into the gym and show them TV's and steroes and tell them that they will get these prizes all they have to do is sell cheese and sausage to their family. I wish that I could have had the smarmy executive explain to my ing 5 yr old that there is no way we can sell the 500 items to get the TV. This happens every year and I always end up buying two things I don't need or want so she can get the participation prize which I could get at our dollar store. It seems like every other month she comes home with something else to sell. I have decreed that we only do Girl Scout fundraisers and one school one per year.
LOL, my kids go to public school, but it feels like we are always fundraising, since our school district cut huge chunks out of our budget. So we fundraise for teachers aids and our pe coach, and various other things.
We just finished with our Halloween Fair, now we are moving on to other things like the Holiday Bazaar, the Warner Walk, the Spring Auction, the candy and wrapping paper, the endless sale of t-shirts, and I am sure I am not thinking of all of them. Ugh.
Not only is it tiring, it is hard to come up with all the money they want out of us! Good grief.
OY VEY, i have the same complaint but the other way around
So far this school year my son's Public School has had two fund raisers, plus he's selling wreathes for cub scouts, oy vey
i think it's a bit much to expect kids to sell all this stuff

That is one of the things I love about our schoo. We don't have to sell anything!! We do fundraiser things but only one major fundraiser. It is Spring Fair. It's a great famil day and raises all the money for the school. Then we collect cans for recycling & do a art project to raise money for new playground equipment.

My kids are in a new school this year and I dont mind a few fundraisers to get things going but they are on there 6thone already and its what not even nov yet tomorrow but im sure another will show up in my kids backpacks. Its getting really bad to the point im not doing any more they can send all they like im not buying between scouts and my daughter just joined brownies they sell enought.
My daughter is doing Penny Harvest also, I like this because it s other organizations not only the school. This Penny Harvest is done here in NYC every year. It is good because, kids learn to give to others. My daughter school has one candy sale which is for the school. One book fair for the PA and school. Pictures are for the PA. We do pictures and book fair. I refuse to do those candy sales that, does nothing for these kids but, aggravate them and us. I don't have 700 people to sell to so she does not. Of course Penny harvest, plus since we all have a lot of pennies almost every class gets the pizza party.

Hi...
I'm a newbie here and have just started working with a company selling children's safety and ID items.......
I was excited because we offer fundraising but after reading your posts I'm feeling like a jerk for even thinking about approaching the organizations here about fundraising.
Is there anything specific you'd suggest for making it easier on you moms when it comes to this fundraising stuff?
Anything you REALLY hate about fundraising that I could avoid like the plague?
I'd really appreciate any suggestions.
I was thinking about letting people do the fundraiser online....like the online home parties they have where they do it for 3 days and then it's over...
I'm not quite sure how they set those up but it might be easier than dragging in order forms and checks and sending the kids to the neighbors house...
thanks
