Hi all...am a first time poster here. My daughter and I have adopted two retired greyhounds and have a foster greyhound...She also has two ferrets. They are all like my "extra " kids. In fact, was talking about my foster child/dog/ one day at work, and one of my employees thought that I was talking about a real child......
My Chinese Pug is almost like a human also. I love the way she listens to me. She understands so much when I talk to her. I'll tell her to go get her baby(which is a stuff animal) and she'll run over to where it is and bring it to me. Or if we're on the bed and she's up there she'll whine and I know what she's wanting so I'll say, "Well...go get your baby and she'll down and run out in the livingroom and bring it in the bedroom. She also know's where I keep her treats, so she'll sit by the cubboard and make all these weird noises to get my attention to get one. Animals are NOT as stupid as some people would like to beleive.
Rosie, there are some dumb labrador's out there. Probably to much inbreeding.
My cats are not dumb...not in the tech sense of the word. Garfield hasn't learned not to get on my computer desk. I have to cover my keyboard and stuff or else I'll have hair and crud all over. I hate that.
I snap my fingers and all the cats, except Whisker's, turn and look at me. The one misbehaving straightens up and s out their kitty window and runs off.
Whisker's has alot too learn. Like, not to treat everything Garfield does as gospel! Like getting on the desk.
I honestly can say this board has the best forums. You have covered everything I can think of to talk about. There seems to be something for everyone to relate to. I like the pet .

I do not really have any pets. but my daughter Amy who lives with me has 5 right now. they are dogs. a mommy dog, Daddy dog, and 3 babies.. They just turned 9 weks old Monday. we sold the one we called Jordan. He was the middle pup. We are still trying to sell the runt. and we are keeping the girl dog. Princess Heidi..
