I have a 2 yr old son who likes to put on my make-up and his dad thinks its funny but everyone else hates it and gives me greef over it. Who do i get him to stop. I keep on redirecting him to something else but that does not work. What am i to do? i am stuck. Some people say its the stage, is it? im going over this. Does anyone have an to me stop this. If you do, i'd be greatful.

I'm sure it's just a stage. My 3 year old wants his nails painted if I do mine. His brother used to, but no more at age 6. Also my nephew did now he's 12 and wouldn't be caught died with that. I think they just want to do what mommy does. Kids copy us all the time. I say don't worry to much, but also put it up so he doesn't ruin it.
I offer to put my make up on him and he get all excited and says yah. i put my make up in my room w/ the door locked but he still seems to get in to it. Believe me, i dont hand it to him on a silver platter. Unfortantly, he found out how to unlock our bedroom door.

Face-paint, clown stuff is fun, and acceptable. He's too young to know the dif., but I'm sure can sense the adult's reactions. Just get him some kid's face paint, but he's too young to use it by himself, so make it a Dad thing (since he thinks it's funny, but him in charge of the project.) They'll both enjoy it!
Its a stage I use to paint my daughters nails and they wanted it done too so I got them clear nail polish I dont wear makeup unless its a special occassion so they dont try to wear it but girl costumes and hiheal shoes they have worn its just a learning experience . It will go away soon enough.
You should not be worried you see he is outnumbered when it comes to boys. I imagine your husband is always at work and all he sees is you and your daughters. Little ones tend to emulate what is around them. Have your husband talk to him and with a show and tell type thing. Show him pictures of men and boys that don't have make up. Have your husband show him that he wears aftershave and maybe this might . My husband had to do this with my son and he is twelve now but, he was 3 then and he stopped. I hope this s. This was my mother's advise to me and it worked very well.

He is probably interested in it since he sees you using it. My son is 2 and he loves to watch me put on my makeup! I give him some lotion to put on while I am doing this, he thinks he is participating that way, and it is just hand lotion, no fragrance or color!
Then I always ask him, "Does Mama look pretty?", and he always says yes!!! What a great boost for my ego, even if I look like a hag!

But sense it bother's all the adults, I like Bruinsmama (Chris') . I'll go 1 better, get him some lotion for babies, and him put that on. Tell him to look at Mommy getting Pretty, and now he's handsome/soft too.
Lock your Makeup in a New Place. Don't worry about a thing. He's just a Baby. That's probably why your husband finds it so funny. Add in Lightnin's of : Father & Son Facepainting" and I feel everyone will be just fine.
