Wesley turned 6 weeks today and had his check up. He is now 13lbs 4oz and 24 inches long. He got 3 immunization shots. He definetly didn't like those or the Infant Advil either. He spit it out and screamed as loud as he did when he got the shots themselves.

I cant believe it has been six weeks since he was born seams like just yesterday. I am glad he is growing well. Aly doesnt mind the needles as much as she hates the medicine that follows the prick of the needle. try tylenol instead of teh advil me may not like it or his system just cant tolerate it as Nikki cant take mortin it makes her so .

I think the problem with the Infant Advil is that I gave it to him right after he was eating. I actually broke his latch and squirted in his mouth. Tried to sneak it in. Dumb , I'm sure it tastes nothing like breastmilk. He spit it out before he even swallowed it so I don't think it effected him other then the taste was a . The dr's office gave me a sample of the advil and one of tylenol so I have both on hand. Hopefully i won't have to use it again for awhile anyhow

Betsy you are probably right he didnt like having his meal interupted. next time try squrting it in first and then having him latch on that worked for aly. and it washed the taste away.

Awwww I'm so glad my girls are out of that shot stage....I hated watching them get those shots. Hope Wesley has long forgotten about them already!

Yeah, It was awful watching his face get that look of and then him screaming and me not being able to even pick him up till they gave him the other 2.
Shawn was even sad that Wesley had to get shots and he didn't go with us. He just saw the bandaids and got . He is very protective of his baby brother.

Betsy, Tell the dr that you want to hold wesley while they give him his shots it may him handle it better. I hold Aly and it goes much better then it did when nikki got shots and was held down on the table to get them. Also I have seen recently that if you breast feed while they get there shots it doesnt bother them as much. not sure if I believe that one yet but thought I would pass it along. You have a few months before he is sched. for more any way. I know its not easy seeing our babies going through this although we know they need them.

I have also seen that breastfeeding while getting them may but I have also heard of some babies relating breastfeeding with shots after that. I'm sure the association doesn't last real long but I'd rather not take the chance.
