Update on Wesley 6/1/04

Wesley is doing pretty good. He has awful gas though. I have never seen a breastfed baby have so much gas. I feel like all I do is feed and burp him. Poor guy will wake up sometmes ing. Let out a big fart or burp and then fall right back to . Shawn is still in love with him

I also found out today that my cousin in Florida had her son the same exact day I had Wesley. He was born in the afternoon though and only weighed 7 lb 11oz. His name is Griffin James. My dad has known but of course forgot to tell me The announcement came today. Dad says,"He looks like yours" Dad thinks all baby's look the same.

Also the teacher I worked with at the school gave Wesley 3 more outfits today and she also has an infant car seat for us. I am very happy to get that. She is bringing it to the school tommorrow. Right now we have a convertible seat. It works fine but since it isn't the carrier type it makes it hard when we go places. i have nothing to sit him in when I have to do things.

Hi Betsy
I am so glad to hear the baby is doing fine. Poor little guy with his burps and all. I just love burping babies, the mothers will always say, oh you wont' get more than one burp out of him and usually three or four later they can't understand it. Its all in the way you rub their back.

I can just picture that little pumpkin, all curled up in his bed. Its nice that Shawn is still in love with him, he has to be for an awfully long time I think.

Give those little cheeks es from me .

Hello

Im glad that you got a infant car seat convertable seats are better used after the baby hits 20 pounds. I am a carseat safety tech. Also make sure that the infant seat is not older than six years because after that the National Highway safety cant tell you what may happen the integratey isnt as good. Plus make sure that the person who gives it to you never had a car accident because if she did you cant use that seat.

When a car is in a crash you should always replace your seats you dont know if the integraty has been breached.

If you can make sure a carseat tech or a police officer many town police stations have a person or two who are certified in this area also who can make sure your seat is installed correctly if you call them they can tell you if they dont do it who might.

I know everyone reads the instructions and still 80% are in wrong. Even mine were before I took the class. Im not trying to be a downer but I just wanted to give you that info. Hows the older one doing in his carseat with him ing around so much he must hate it make sure he is straped in good. He should be in a booster till 8 years and 80pounds thats the recommendation.

Take care and good luck with the sour tummy like i said had two boys with the relux hope thats not what hes got.

DeeDee~ Thank You for the adorable card. We recieved it yesterday afternoon. It will be going in Wesley's scrapbook
Don't picture him in his bed too much. He won't in it. He will only in our bed or his bouncy seat. Little stinker.

Bruinsmama~ Thank You! I actually got great last night!! Wesley slept from 12:30 til 7:30. I couldn't believe it. Of course I woke up a few times inbetween but I went right back to after checking on him.

momofbpi~ I know how importnat car seat safety is. One of my does car seat safety for the Health Dept here. She is the one that gave me the convertible seat. They wre all out of infant seats at the time. I did get the infant seat today and it is only a couple years old and never been in an accident. I know you can't use them after that, that's why I didn't get one from the second hand store like I do other things we need but can't afford. Shawn actually stays in his booster seat very good. He buckles himself in and everything. I have told him if he doesn't wear his belt and we get in an accident he might die and never see us again. I don't usually have any problems with him Luckily.

Countrymama~ I haven't taken Wesley to the doctor yet. He has his 2 week appoinment on Friday. He hasn't had anymore really big puke episodes just little spitting up so I am going to wait until that visit and see what the doctor says then. Since we will also get to see how much weight he has gained.

Betsy you are very w.elcome for the card. It was my pleasure.

Oh if Wesley won't in his own bed, I would love to have those little cheeks in mine. I will make lots of room for him.

Betsy , thanks for the update!! He sounds sooo cute, They both do. I wish I could come cuddle them for a while. My youngest daughter had reflux and gas big time. One sunday we were in church and it was very quiet and she let out a big ol fart. Boy did I turn red. Everyone in church turned around and started ing. It was good natured ing though. Summer took meds for her reflux. It ed some but it didn't really settle down until she had her surgey for her cleft palate. She still is VERY gassy. It is a big joke around here but after her episode with the gastitinitus last weekend I'm thinking of taking her to her dr. and talking about it. Her stomache always feels until she eats something. Like every couple of hours and now I'm starting to wonder if she has an ulcer or something. She is on Zantac now, It seems to some....... Anyway, I just wanted to share the Church story. Hope you can get his gas under control so he feels better. And keep getting some where you can. And keep us posted. It's been a long time since I've had one that little.
