Harry Potter 4 (Goblet of Fire)

I haven't seen any reviews of this movie on the boards. Can someone add some insight without giving away too much? We haven't had the time to go see it yet because we want to see it as a family, and our schedules are just not allowing it to happen.

I took Shawn to see it when it came out as a secial treat. I thought it was great. Shawn did however say during the movie,"This is a scary movie" but when it was over he said he liked it. He is 7.

We finally went to see this tonight. It was so much better than the 3rd movie and much more like the first two. However over their four years at Hogwarts, these children have started to lose their innocence, so this movie isn't as light as the couple. Yes, they has to leave a lot out of the book to fit it into the time limitations of the movie industry, but it was still a good movie. Now, I wish I had the time to go back and re-read all of the books again.

KarenBMomof4 is on a distinguished road
Harry Potter Fan

My first post here and its about Harry Potter - go figure.

Have seen all four movies and read all 6 six books. Love them all. Having kids gives me the excuse to watch Disney, play polly pockets and build lego!!!

I have four kids, 15Amy, 13Ashley, 8Stefan and 5Katie!!

The movies are never going to completely do the books justice because to read the book is sooo much more ...... ah complete!?? But the movies are good. The last movie - Goblet of Fire had a different director so I found it played out different than the others. A lot darker than the rest. The books are increasingly getting darker as well though and the characters are aging. My 15 yr old daugther loved the movie but wasn't as interested in the first three. My son who is 8 also loved it but was during the Voldemort return.

I just wish I could get my kids to read and enjoy it as much as I did.

Love to get to know more of you!

Karen

Karen,

Polly Pocket, Disney and legos? Are you a homeschooler? That sounds like one of our days here. Just curious.

I liked it better than number 3, but not as much as the first and second. We watched all four this weekend since the DH was out of town and the DD and I had slumber parties in the living room on Friday and Saturday.
