Has anyone seen this yet? I am taking my 10 yr old dd tomorrow evening. Is it as good as we are being led to believe by all of the hype?

my son's school is taking all the kids from k-2 to see the movie, it looks amazing, i'm going to have to pick up the book

This movie is awesome. It is destined to be an instant classic. I predict that when it is finally released on DVD and VHS that a lot of people will buy it to watch during the holidays as a family tradition. That is what we plan to do.
The animation is incredible and the story was so well told that it did not detract from the book one bit. I would also bet that it tops the box office over Thanksgiving as more people are likely to take the whole family to see it as a start to the holiday season.
You know a film is moving when a 10 year old tough girl admits to getting teary-eyed because parts of it were so sad. My dd loved the movie even with the sad parts.
Go see this movie and take your whole family. The lessons it teaches are for everyone and this is one of the few cases where the movie is every bit as good as the book.

I am going tomorrow after church with the kids. Thanks for the heads up. I don't want to see Sponge Bob so we voted and Polar Express won. My husband said he was not giving money for that Sponge nonsense like he calls it. They had to vote Polar Express.

I am glad we voted Polar Express first of all the theater was empty. Sponge Bob was playing in the other theater. I did not mind at all. This movie is wonderful. It took me back to a better time. My son hardly likes anything, was in awe of this movie. It was thrilling I liked the roller coaster effect. Everyhting was awesome!! Once it comes out on DVD I am buying it. If anyone has the chance go and see it. The animation if you call it that was great. Tom Hanks was brilliant. As an adult this movie shows how much we lose when we stop believing in Santa.

All the first graders went to see the movie monday.I went also.It was such a wonderful movie.All the kids loved it.My sons teacher read the book o us before we left for the movies and after we got back we had hot chocolate and talked about the movie.
