Red face Hubby got me cold Mountain!
Ohhhhhhhhhhh my hubby got me Cold Mountain. I just love watching Jude Law and Nicole Kidman act. She is one of my favrite actress!
It's really good movie but the ending is sad.

I loved that movie! I just love almost any movie about the Civil War! I thought it was great...and Jude Law wasn't bad to look at either!

Kricket You and I would get along great then becouse I am the same way I love civil war movies Have you ever seen Glory (about the first black regament that was formed for the union) It is really good. And I just seen Andersonville for the first time about 5 monthes ago that was really hard to watch.
I am a BIG gone with the wind fan. Sarlett reminds me of me very strong headed and stong willed.

Oh yes, I've seen Glory, Gettysburg, Andersonville, North and South...to name a few! Been to Gettysburg quite a few times....and even found out a few years ago that I have a ggg grandfather that fought for the south during the Civil War under Stonewall Jackson....I found his Confederate Pension form.

Anyway I have yet to see Gone with the Wind! I want to though!

I never finished the book because it wasn't doing anything for me at the time.
Is the movie better/same/worse than the book? I have yet to see the movie.

Cold Mountain
The movie itself was very good, I would recommend it - however - there were some scenes that made me turn my head. These scenes have ruined buying the movie for me. I wouldn't be able to watch them again, even though the movie itself was outstanding. (I do agree, that they were key to the movie, knowing that is how life was at that time).
