Yep..you heard right...I will be hosting a contest..starting tonight...Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2003. Why? Hold onto your pantaloons my darlins....if everything goes as planned...I..lady_pennington (aka Cynthia, in the business world)..will take on a new challenge for the next phase of my life. I am venturing out into an area totally different from managing restaurants. Within the next few days, I will be launching my own business on the web!!! Monica, Tina, Doreen...ya'll get up off the floor now! And Miss Kathy...hon, might wanna hold off on the ers for right now...cuz I'm probably gonna need'em the first few weeks of opening or "launching" I guess I should say.
Okay...all joking aside. Let me explain my contest. As I told my husband tonight....I have made so many dear here on mom zone. I have said many times that I feel blessed for being a part of this site and for the women here that have become a part of my life. Sooo, I wanted to somehow make you a part of my new adventure. I know there are alot of you that don't know me ..."I've seen ALOT of new faces since our Grand Re-Opening here" and am looking forward to getting to know you...*WELCOME TO THE ZONE* by the way!! And to mom zone alumni..."you have become such a part of my family, being here for me whenever I've needed someone" and it just wouldn't be the same if you weren't somehow included in my new adventure. So, for the next 2 days, I want to invite you all to me come up with a name for my website. A name that would be, befitting to my personality, a name that would be eyecatching to the public (as well as online), because once I'm on my feet and the online business is flourishing well, I have plans, a dream (within the next year or so) to open my own gift shop in the community of which I live (fingers crossed for Memphis or Nashville.) Hopefully by the end of next year, I will be back in Tennessee and want desperately to open my little store there. I can't begin to tell you how very excited I am about all of this!! My website, owning my own little store and having you...my ...be a part of it all!!!
You mean so much to me! With that said, I'd be truly honored if you would participate in the naming of my gift shop. I know this is last minute (very last minute, I have been trying to get this posted for about 6 hrs. now...won't let me post for some reason..*sniff*)...and I do deeply apologize for that..(I've had soo much going on...not just this, but my ex and child support...long story, different thread)but...we only have about a day and a half to accomplish this. Tomorrow night (Wed) I will narrow the names down to three and then conduct a poll that everyone can vote on. The winner...the person who names my store...will receive a special gift from me. From my gift shop!!!
C'mon ladies...let's get those names a flowin!! Most all mom zone alumni, know me pretty well as far as my personality and that I'm a southern gal...so to make it a little more fair for the newcomers...I will try and as far as giving you an as to what items will be in my gift shop.
To name a few:
Collectibles, like dolls and various figurines...
Oil Warmer Sets, in various styles of Dolphins and a few other designs...
A few Native American type items..after all my dh is Indian...
Cherubs and Angels...
A Special "Patriotic" Line...
Candles....Table Top Water Fountains...a few items for our guys and children...but mainly a place where a woman will feel quiet at home!
And somewhere the ladies can send their hubbies to buy gifts for those special occasions...etc. *Lets not forget Christmas is just around the corner!* And in looking at the big picture...opening up my own shop in a little over a year...I want to have somewhat of a specialty store....items that you can't find anywhere else. Until that time...I'm really hoping that my online business will skyrocket, because I'd like to be able to wholesale to a few businesses here in Rapid City...I feel if I can do that...I'm just that much closer to being able to move back to Tennessee alot sooner and meet my goal or dream of my shop opening. I am soo excited!!! Not only for my website...but the fact that my here will be a part of it, by ing me decide on a name.
Okay ladies...get those thinking caps on! Only rules to the contest, so that I feel I'm being as fair as possible to everyone and because we are limited in time....you can only enter "one name" and it has to be posted in this thread. That way, it all stays together in one area. So ladies, have fun and give me all you got!!

Amy that was really good! I am not extremely creative myself when coming up with names. I bet there is someone among us here who is incredibly good at this sort of thing and I look forward to seeing the choices come in!!!
I am so happy for you Cindy! I know we haven't gabbed in quite some time but you are always in my thoughts and heart. I wish you well in your new endeavor and will keep you in my ers, especially the move back to your beloved Tennessee! (I will surely make the there to see you)
As far as a name, right now I can't come up with anything creative but will give it some thought and get back to you soon.
You won't be happy with more until you're happy with what you've got.
I am beginning to learn that it is the sweet simple things of life which are the real ones after all.
