Myth: If I

It's almost impossible to lock braces while

Myth: Traveling will be a pain-I'll set off metal detectors at the airport.
Not true! The materials used in braces are so lightweight, they don't affect
detectors.
Myth: Statistically, braces will increase my chance of being struck by lightning.
Whether or not you wear braces, the chance of getting struck by lightning is the same. (If you're curious, nationalgeographic.com reports your chances are one in 700,000 in any given year in the U.S.)
