Just wanted to say hi to all and hope to hear from someone soon. I am a mom of three that seems to be going . None of the kids seem to want to do chores or listen to me. My discipline needs improving because I usually don't, and I need another mom to with some good advise. before i to my children and let them run the house.

Its nice to meet you. How old are your kids? You have to start letting them know you are the boss instead of the other way around or you will never be able to control them. You have to start now. Its hard for a mom to be strict with the kids but if we let them do what they want, it won't them grow to be fine people later on. They need the discipline no matter how difficult it is for you to give it.
Have you tried grounding them, taking away a favorite toy or movie or something? There are many ways to discipline.

I am sure some other mothers will in and offer some advice to you soon.
You just have to learn to put your foot down and let them know you mean business.

Hello and !! I am glad you joined us. you will get the support you need from all of the fine woman here. We have all felt like you at one point or another and I am sure we will again. My daughters are 19 and 13 and some days I just sit and wonder "where did I go wrong??". .

DeeDee is right. You do need to make it known to the kids that you are the boss. How old are your kids? That may us in giving you s on discipline. But the main thing is consistancy. You may have to tell them over and over again for a while but eventually it will get better.

I will try to keep up with you on this but if I am slow in responding don't take it personally. I have had a very schedule and haven't been getting on MZ much lately. But keep coming back and ing in on the other forums. The support and fun you will get here will be quite a blessing for you and a great way to relieve stress.

So I forgot to tell you ages. Brandon is my oldest and he is 12, then there is Bethanie who is 9 going on 19, and Olivia who is 5 will be 6 in a few days. I know consistancy is essential, but coming from a home that believed in spanking it makes it hard for me to do that, and I am not the best at discipline. I am trying very hard, but the kids just ignore me. Yes I have grounded and it usually works however it seems they are really trying me right now. Thank you both so much I know I will enjoy MZ and am very glad to have found it.

Hi and what I normally do is take away things and privileges. I give when there is good behavior and then I take it away when they are bad. It works for me, I have consistency. If you start feeling then it would never happen. My children say I am when I am in punishment mode. I am glad that they think so. One example, my son who is 13 got a new Swing bike the ones that look like chopper motorcycles. We bought the bike in May we told him to clean the room he was testing us and the room remained filthy, he tought we would give up the bike remained in the box until mid- July that he decided to clean out his room. He saw the box everyday but, could do nothing. Now his game boy is in the closet. I don't play. They will later. My 28 and 26 year old do. I hope I ed.
