Thumbs up Easy Calzones

Makes: 4

1 loaf frozen bread dough, thawed
completely (6 to 8 hrs.)
1 pkg. (10 oz.) frozen chopped
spinach, thawed & drained
1 lb. ricotta cheese
1 tsp. Parmesan cheese
2 tbsp. oil
Garlic powder
Salt & pepper
1 pkg. (8 oz.) shredded Mozzarella
cheese
1 egg + 2 Tbls. water

Separate dough into 4 pieces. Roll out bread dough (approximately 12 x 12 inches). Mix together: spinach, ricotta and Parmesan cheese, oil, garlic powder, salt and pepper. Place equal portions of mixture on each piece of dough. Top with sliced mozz. cheese. Roll lengthwise, seal securely and place seam down on greased sheet. Brush top with 1 egg mixed with 2 tablespoons water. Allow to rise 15 to 30 minutes. Make diagonal slashes on top of roll, being careful NOT to cut through the dough. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes.

Note: If you wish to make these with meat, use sliced pepperoni, crumbled cooked sausage or ham slices.
