Mess on an electric stove burner

The DH did some cooking recently and melted a tupperware lid onto one of the electric stove burners. Does anyone out there know how to get the mess off the burner? It is too to be able to ventilate the house and try to do it by heating the burner to melt the stuff off of it on to the drip pan. If I did that, how would I get it off of the drip pan? I tried non-acetone nail polish remover - didn't work. I need some sort of suggestion on what might take the plastic off of the burner.

Do you mean off the top lids of your stove? It has happened here before too and the only way I got it off was to turn the lid on and then scrape it with a knife to get it off while it was still hot.

Hope you find a way to do it.

That has happened here before, too. What a mess!!! I waited until it was completely and was able to peel and sort of chip it all off. It took a bit of work but it all came off. Good luck!

I was going to suggest you do what Amy suggested.
Just work at picking it off.
I wouldn't heat it back up again. Burning plastic is not healthy for you.

Good luck and let us know what happens.
