Economical Fabric Softener
Instead of buying that $$$ fabric softener, did you know that you can use regular white vinegar in your downy ball (or a 1/4 cup during the rinse cycle)?
It works just as well, and it doesn't leave your
smelling like vinegar!

Nope!
As long as you followthe measurements (a downy ball filled to the softener line or 1/4 cup), your
won't smell like vinegar. I did a load today with it!

Great Tip Elena!! I will definitely try this. Vingegar is good for
anyway. Helps keep elastic, elasticy!! Is that a word?? I would think it would get rid of odors too. Thanks for the tip!!
I use it in my whites all the time too because I am allergic to bleach and most powdered bleaches and detegents with bleach built in. Anyone have any other suggestions for getting whites whiter?

Economical Fabric Softener
Polly you might want to try using hydrogen peroxide on your whites soaking them for a short while in it.
Then wash as usual.

Thank you evlevo85, should I just put them with peroxide or mix with water. How much should I use? I am always looking for new tips. Thanks again.

Peroxide, huh? Gotta try that one too!
Man, when I go to the laundromat, I'm probably going to get some weird looks, but who cares? If it works, it works!

Okay, let's see if I have this
thing right.
1. Detergent
2. Peroxide for stains (instead of bleach)
3. Vinegar for softening and smell removal
Did I miss any of the aisles in the store?

Peroxide Soaking Stains Out
No water, just peroxide. Also it would be more economical to get a a small dishwashing pan to soak stained items in.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ok now I don't use water but usually plan on washing item almost immediately. 1/4 cup peroxide to a gal. of water.
Hey my apologys for my mind not always working for me when I want it to.
Also another tip for bleaching items when you are out of bleach : Use a scoop or two of dishwasher detergent.
