Kelli, are you talking about an outdoor garden? I know marigolds are very self reliant. I pinched the dead heads off a few of mine and threw them in a pot that had a little dirt in it just because it was handy at the moment and the next thing I knew I have plants growing. They are also good because you can save the flowers, dry them out and use the seeds next year to plant more. Impatiens are a good flower for a beginner too. I will try to think of more when I'm a little more awake. Hopefully some of the other ladies will have some tips for you also.
