French Recipes

I got this recipe from a 1929 French C***erole Cookery cookbook. I tried it & it became one of my families favorites. If you are watching your weight, I do NOT reccomend it. But for an elegant, romantic dinner for you & your hubby, it is really delicious! I make this only 2 times a year.
Chicken Baked in Cream
1 whole en (cut up) or en parts you prefer.
2 pints heavy or whipping cream
1/4- 1/3 cup of white wine
Garlic powder, salt & pepper
2 Tbsps. olive oil
Wash & dry en parts.
Season to taste w/ garlic powder, salt & pepper.
Saute in large frying pan in the olive oil till brown on both sides.
remove from pan & drain off grease. Place into a covered c***erole dish , pour heavy or whipping cream over en. Add white wine, stir gently to blend flavors. Cover. Bake in a 325 degree oven for 1hour 15 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes. Serve w/ A green fresh vegetable such as asparagus or broccoli & a small portion of white rice. Elegant & romantic. Really delicious!
