Chili Supreme
1 can (28 oz.) tomato sauce
1 lb. ground beef, browned and drained
1 can (16 oz.) kidney beans, drained and rinsed
1 can (14.5 oz.) whole tomatoes, cut up
1 can (15 oz.) Veg-All Original Mixed Vegetables, with liquid
3/4 cup sliced green onions
2 tsp. chili powder
1/4 tsp. black pepper
In a 3-quart saucepan, combine cooked ground beef, green onions, Veg-All, tomatoes, kidney beans, tomato sauce, chili powder, and pepper Bring to a boil; reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally Serve hot in bowls with corn chips, grated cheese, or diced green onions as toppers
Cook's Note: A vegetarian version can be made by eliminating ground beef and adding 1 tsp. dried oregano and 1/2 tsp. cumin
Makes 6-8 servings
