back strengthening Exercises?

Not sure if this is were to post this.

Does anyone have any back stengthening s that you have done? or could recomend. my lower back kills me after doing house work. for example I cook ally breakfast clean her up do a sink full of vacume and straighten the living room so Ally can distroy it again. by the time I get this done I usually have to sit for a spell so I dont fall over because my lower back feels like jelly. Now the reason I am asking all of you and not my dr. is because the first thing out of his mouth will be lose weight like I dont know I need to. I am trying but that would almost require someone living with me saying dont eat that. I come from a family of good eaters, its hard to change habits you have grown up and lived with your entire life, I know its possable but sure isnt easy.

I will stop now as I could keep going on this subject for a while

These are the excersises that I do. I got them frommy PT from when I had a snow shoveling accident..


lay on your bed on your tummy lift your upper body with your arms If it hurts your pushing to far up go slow and you will find yourself able to get higher as you go on.

Then do it with just your legs.


2) lay on your back and lift your lrgs one at a time to a comfortable spot and hold it ther for a bit do both legs one at a time for about a count of ten

3) go on your hands and knees and put up the left arm and right leg then switch so you always have the oppsite arm and leg up.
Go slow and you will find it hurts to go higher and higher.

Also when you lay down to rest put your leg up so that your heel isn't touching anything and turn your ankle around.

WHen you are standing in one spot try to elevate one leg slightly even if you just baslance off of it.

You will find there are lots of times you can do the last one. I used to do it while ing my friend feed her ens and it rks greast cause you shift your center of gravity on your back.


A tip all of us can use is to out something soft to stand on when you do the or load /unload the .

I really appreciate you giving us these s. Like Countrymama I too suffer from low back pain. Not all the time, not excruciating, but pain just the same.

Kathleen Thanks so much for taking the time to post these. I really appreciate it. I hope these work I know I am going to ahve to take it slow maybe this will also as I plan on starting to walk soon, I havent before this becuase my back tires so easily.

Ladies you are more than . Slow and easy is just how to do it... I also have to start walking alot more one the gas prices and two there is enough places that I go that I can walk to if I just make myself do it.
