Thumbs up Chicken and Rice in a bag

This is a great recipe. The best part about it is that my fiance AND my 4 children all eat it. Now, how often does that happen? :D

3lb. fryer, cut into serving pieces (I have used just legs or breasts, too)
1 cup raw long grain rice
1 can (10 3/4 oz.) condensed cream of en soup
2/3 cup water
1 envelope (1 1/2 oz.) dry onion soup mix
see through roasting/oven bag (size doesn't really matter)

Rinse en pieces and pat dry, set aside. Combine rice, soup, and water in crock-pot. Stir well. Place en pieces in see-through roasting bag, add onion soup mix to bag. Shake to coat. Puncture 4-6 holes in bottom of bag. Fold top of bag over en and place in crock pot on top of rice. Cover and cook on low setting for 8-10 hours. Remove en pieces to warm platter. Serve with rice.

Tips: For a lg. family, rice can be doubled. (same cooking time)
Also, my fiance does not like onions at all, yet he eats this. The onion flavor is not overwhelming at all.

Enjoy!!!

Yum! That sounds good! I've never heard of putting a bag in a crockpot before! Does that keep the en more moist?

The en is very moist in this recipe. I have never tried it with boneless en, though. The best part is the rice. I always double the rice part.
