Elaine's Beef Stroganoff
We had this for the first time tonight, and my family and I pronounced it "really good". So mote it be.
This is from the "Fix It and Forget It" cookbook, and the recipe is by Elaine Unruh of Minneapolis, MN.
Elaine's Beef Stroganoff
1 lb. round steak, cubed
1 T. shortening
1/2 C. chopped onions
1/2 C. chopped celery
10 3/4 oz. can cream of celery soup
4 oz. can mushroom pieces, drained
1 C. sour cream
1/4 t. garlic salt
1. Brown meat in shortening in saucepan. Add onions and celery and saute until just tender.
2. Combine all ingredients in slow cooker.
3. Cover. Cook on Low 6-8 hours.
4. Serve over hot cooked noodles.
