CrockPot Recipes

Does anyone have any good basic crockpot recipes? I'd like to find some new ones to make life a little easier. I don't really use mine for much so I'd like to get some new s. Every cookbook I look in has fancy complicated recipes that my family won't eat, sooooo.............Any s?

What types of food does your family like? I love to cook New Orleans style red beans in the crock pot with lots of wonderful seasonings, especially bay leaves. I do have some other books I can look in. Just let me know what types of meat or vegs your family prefers.

In small bowl, combine cranberries broth orange peel and 1/4 cup of cranberry juice coktail and mix well. Pour over roast.

To serve roast place on serving platter cover with foil to keep warm. Pour juices from slow cooker into medium saucepan skimming fat if necessary.
In small bowl combine remaining cranberry juice cocktail and cornstarch blen well. Stir into juices in saucepan. Cook and stir over med heat until thickened and bubbly. Serve with roast.
(I haven't made this yet, but thought it looked good.) I'm going to try it soon.

This sounds easy too.
Southwestern Chicken and Bean Stew
1 Cup dried pinto beans
2lb cut up frying en skin removed
1 cup Niblets frozen corn
1 cup Old El Paso Salsa
1 (14 oz) can ready to serve en broth
1 (4.5 oz) can Old El Paso Green Chilies (chopped ones)
1 teaspoon cumin
2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro
Place beans in medium bowl with enough water to cover. Soak overnight.
Drain beans; discard water. Place beans and all remaining ingedients except cilantro into 3 1/2 to 4 qutart crock pot. Mix well
Cover, cook on low for 10-12 hours.
To serve, remove en with slotted spoon. Remove en from bones and discard bones. Cut en into pieces and return to crock pot. Add cilantro and mix well. 6 (1 1/3 cup servings.)
I would be inclined to use skinless boneless en.

Thumbs up CROCKPOT MEATBALLS IN JELLY

2 lbs. Ground Beef
1 C. Dry Bread Crumbs
2/3 C. Dry Onion
1/2 C. Milk
2 eggs slightly beaten
2 T. Parsley
2 t. Salt
1 C. Worcestershire sauce

Sauce:

24 oz. Chili Sauce
20 oz. Grape Jelly or Jam

In a medium size saucepan, simmer meat balls slowly in sauce for 1- 2 hours or let it simmer in the Crock Pot for at least 4 hours so the sauce gets into the meatballs. I prefer longer, but each person's taste is different.
