Post Gifts in a Jar!

I have found some great Gifts in a jar recipes and would like to share them with you. If you have some recipes share them i am looking into making them for the up coming craft show for Nov!

Tasty Fruit Dip Mix (Fall gift mix recipe)
In a wicker basket, add half a dozen apples, a brown sack
decked out with a festive label of the mix (in a resealable
ziplock bag) and drape a holiday hand or kitchen towel over
the front of the basket.

~ Tasty Fruit Dip Mix ~
1 c brown sugar
3 TBSP chopped stalizd ginger
2 tsp ground cinnamon
6 apples

Process brown sugar, ginger and cinnamon in food processor
until ginger is finely chopped. Store in airtight ziplock bag.
Yields: 1 1/4 c.

To Serve: In a small bowl, beat 3 TBSP mix into one (8 oz)
package softened cream cheese until well blended. Cover and
chill 1 hour to allow flavors to blend.
Yields: about 1 c. dip/spread.

Cinnamon Pancake Mix in a Jar
3 cups Flour
2 tablespoons Sugar
2 tablespoons Baking Powder
4 1/2 teaspoons Cinnamon
1 1/4 teaspoons Salt

In a quart jar, combine all ingredients in layers, placing flour on bottom,
then cinnamon in middle and other ingredients on top. Seal jar.

Store in a , dry place up to 6 months before using. Use the following
recipe when you are ready to make pancakes, or copy it onto a recipe card
and attach it to your decorated jar to give as a gift:


Cinnamon Pancakes

In a medium bowl, combine 3/4 cup Milk, 1 Egg and 2 Tbsp. Vegetable Oil.
With a wire whisk, blend in 1-1/3 cups Pancake Mix until moistened but still
lumpy. Cook on a lightly greased griddle or skillet. Makes about 10- 5
inch pancakes.
Santa's Trail Mix

1 package (16 oz) red and green candy coated chocolate covered peanuts
1 package (15.4 oz) chocolate covered raisins
2 package (7.5 oz each) white fudge covered pretzels
6 cups cinnamon graham cereal

In a very large bowl, combine peanuts, raisins, pretzels, and cereal. Store in an airtight container in a place. Makes about 16 cups mix.

REESE'S PEANUT BUTTER CUPS COOKIE MIX IN A JAR
3/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1 3/4 cups flour mixed with 1 tsp. baking powder and 1/2 tsp. baking soda
8 large Rese's peanut butter cup candies cut into 1/2" pieces (wrap in plastic)

Layer ingredients in jar in order given. Press each layer firmly in place before adding next ingredient.

Recipe to attach to jar:
Remove candies from jar and set aside. Empty mix in large mixing bowl; stir to combine. Add 3/4 cup softened butter, 2 eggs slightly beaten and 1 tsp. vanilla; mix until completely blended. Stir in candies. Roll dough into walnut-sized balls. Place 2" apart on lightly greased sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 12 to 14 minutes or until edges are lightly browned. Cool 5 minutes on baking sheet. Remove to wire racks to completely. Yield: 2 1/2 dozen.
