Directions:
Find a sun pattern in a coloring book or on an online coloring book, or draw one yourself. Trace the pattern onto tracing paper. Use carbon paper to transfer the design onto the tile. Trace over the carbon paper lines with the marking pen.
Put on the safety glasses for this part. Break the tiles, using the cutting nipper or hammer. To break tile or dishware with a hammer, put them on a towel with the colored side down. Tap with a hammer.
Use the tile adhesive to attach the appropriate tiles inside the marking pen lines. Use orange for the round part of the sun, yellow for the rays, and white to fill in the tile around the design. Use the craft stick to spread the adhesive on the back of the pieces as you go.
Mix the grout according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Spread the grout on top of the tiles with the spatula and your fingers, pressing the grout between the tiles. Wipe the grout off of the top of the tiles with a damp sponge. Let the grout set. Mix some more grout and spread around the edges of the trivet, smoothing with your fingers. Let set. Turn the trivet over and super glue the marbles about a half inch from each corner.
