Anyone us dry flowers before in any kind of craft? There great and fun to use. I try to dry my own! When i get flowers for gifts i always hang them up to dry so i can us them in a popporri or use them when i am making something else.
i would think you could probably use them in wreaths or something like that

Years ago, I used to use Silica Gel and dry them in the micro-wave. Before that it took quite a bit longer because they had to be placed in a box with the silica gel and allowed to air dry. BUT....the advantages of using this method is that the colors stay true, the flowers remain looking as though they had just been plucked from the garden and they last a long long time. To use this method, pour a healthy layer of the gel (actually a stal substance) on the bottom of your container, place the flowers you're wanting to dry without touching each other or the sides of your container. Pour more silica over to cover completely. If you're trying to dry those that are thick such as roses, be sure the silica gets into the layers, now be patient. Leave them alone until completey dry. The stems that you cut off can be dried at the same time. When finished, push a thin wire through the stem attach it back on the flower and tape on with florist tape. A dab of glue will hold them on also. The silica is very inexpensive and can be used over and over. When the stals start turning blue you dry them in the oven and use them again! Hope this s you build a beautil centerpiece or beautiful wreath. I hope you'll post the photos if you try this method! I'd love to see you're handiwork and I'm sure everyone else would too!
I have a hanging rack in my kitchen and I hang all my flowers and herbals upside down to dry. It s keep there color well.

You'll Need : Rubber bands - Clothes pins -Wire coat hanger , hangers , depending on how many flowers you are going to dry out .
My tried & true tip for drying flowers + keeping the color in them is this :
1. Keep the stems on the flowers if possible 6 inches is great !
Gather them together in bunches of two to five stems with a rubber band.
2. Take the stem part and clothes pin it to horizontal part of hanger.
Stem hangs vertical when done.
Usually I dry a bunch of flowers at a time so when I've finished with the rubber banding them and clothes pinning them to the horizontal part of the clothes hanger, there'll be four to six bunches hanging from the hanger.
3. When you have finished with your hanger or hangers of flowers , hang them up in a dark closet or hang them in a dark place for 14 days. All of the color stays , they dont mold or turn that ugly brown, black color.
