Herbs

I want to start an herb garden........Does anyone have any hints or suggestions??

Also....how much fresh herbs to use instead of packaged; more, less?

One more thing....does anyone know of a website that tells about herbs; especially what each herb is used for and in what kind of ? You know, don't want to put something like garlic in s......

Lightbulb Hope this helps!

Here are some recipes and some sites from my herbal pages on my web site hope they you out.

Fresh herbs should be used. Recipe makes about 1/3 a cup
Fresh herbal rub:2 Tablespoons of parsley
2 Tablespoons of oregano
1 & 1/2 teaspoons of rosemary
1 & 1/2 teaspoons of thyme
2 garlic clovers (minced)
1 teaspoon sea salt
1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon salt
Cayenne Pepper to taste
Combine all ingredients in a small bowl. rub over meat or vegetables.
Cover and chill for 30 minutes. Proceed to bake, grill, or broil. cook to preference

Herb-Blend Tea
2 tablespoons dried rose hip slices
3 tablespoons dried peppermints leaves, crumbled
2 tablespoons dried orange blossoms, crumbled
Simmer dried rose hips in 1 1/2 quarts water for 15 minutes. Remove from the heat. Add peppermint leaves and dried orange blossoms and let steep 5 minutes.

Syrup of Lemon:
Take lemon after peeling its outer skin, press it and take a ratl of juice, and add as much of sugar. Cook it until it takes the form of a syrup. its advantages are for the hear of bile; it cuts the thirst and binds the bowels.

This we also serve as a strong, hot drink. Alternatively, dilute it in water and you have thirteenth century lemonade. All three of the original recipes include comments on medical uses of the syrups.

You can find more drink mix recipes at this site:
