Lightbulb Pie Baking Tips

Cut out the flat bottom from an aluminum pie plate and place the "ring" upside down on your pie crust before baking, to prevent pie crusts from becoming overdone and/or burnt. Leave on for the entire baking time and you will have a perfectly browned pie crust. This works with frozen pies as well. The ring can be used indefinately.

If you have leftover pie crust dough, roll it out and brush with melted butter, sprinkle with brown sugar and roll it up. Slice into 1" wide pieces and lay on a sheet. Bake next to the pie approximately 15 minutes. Options: sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar, brown sugar and cocoa or brown sugar and cinnamon.
