Keeping Track of Spices

To find spice or seasoning bottles easily, take a few minutes to alphabetize them on your shelf or rack. A few minutes of effort beforehand, and an extra couple of seconds each time you use one of these spices will save you a lot of time and hassle in the long run.
Also consider finding your favorite brand, and buying all spices, herbs and seasonings from that company. This way, the labeling and jar sizes will remain consistent and look very neat.

My grandam does this. We used to my fun of her, but I'll have to admit that it is much faster to find a spice at her house than it is to find one at mine. :D

Sounds like a great . Never thought about alphabetizing them. I do have the ones I use most often on a lazy susan type shelf near my cooking area. Thanks for the great .

I have tried that alphabetizing but it isn't always easier unless all the spice bottles and containers are the same size and shape. One good way to store them in lying flat in a drawer, if you have the space (I don't, but I know a lady who keeps her like this and it's a breeze to find what she needs) I have a 'lazy susan' thingy where I keep the spices I use most often. The others are in a shoebox in my pantry. I wrote the names with a sharpie marker on the caps, so all I have to do is glance in the box and can see what's what
