I thought everyone knew how to cook with real pumpkin, untill my girlfriend of over 20 years asked me how I do it...this is what I told her....cooking real pumpkin is just like cooking any other squash. I use sm to med sm pumpkins for decoration during Halloween, and( those that last that long) Thanksgiving. When I'm ready to cook one, I cut it in half, discarding the stem, seeds, and stringy insides, then I put the halves down (on the cut side) on a

sheet. They get covered with foil, and cook in a 350 degree oven for an hour. I check them at that point to see how easily I can scrape the shell out, if it's easy I'm done, if not, I return the pumkin to the oven, checking it every 10-15mins until I feel it's nice and easy to scrape out. Once all the "meat" is scraped out, I let it

, then put it in the food processor untill it's puree, then I either use it or freeze it in 1c quantities......you'll love the taste, I know I did the first time my neighbor gave me some bread made with real pumpkin!!!!!
