makes about 70 bar

2 cups brown sugar, packed
1 cup butter or margarine, softened
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
3 cups uncooked oatmeal
1 pkg. (12 oz) chocolate chips
1 can sweetened condensed milk
2 Tablespoons butter
1 cup chopped walnuts
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 teaspoon salt
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Grease 15x10x1 pan. Mix brown sugar, 1 cup butter, eggs and vanilla in large bowl.
Stir in flour, baking soda, salt and oatmeal. Reserving 1/3 or oatmeal mixture, press
remaining in prepared pan.
Heat chocolate chips, sw. cond. milk and butter in 2 quart pan, over low heat, stirring constantly, until melted and smooth. Remove from heat, stir in nuts, vanilla and salt. Spread over oatmeal mixture in pan. Drop "globs" of reserved oatmeal mixture on top of fudgy layer.
Bake until golden brown 25 - 30 minutes. Cut into bars while still warm.
