Ginger Cookies

Ginger Cookies

¼ cup sweet butter, melted and ed
2 tablespoons molasses
½ cup unrefined dark brown sugar
1 egg
1 cup all purpose flour
1 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon ground ginger
¼ ground allspice

Mix the butter, molasses, brown sugar and egg in a large bowl. Mix together the dry ingredients and then add them to the butter mixture and mix.

For dough into balls about 2 inches in diameter. Place balls on sheet and press down to create 1 ¼ inch rounds. Place baking sheet in refrigerator for about an hour before baking. When ready to bake, preheat oven to 350 degrees. Sprinkle s with granulated sugar and bake for 10-12 minutes. Cool on wire rack.
