Question Taboo: bacon grease!!


My Mom used to bake chocolate chip s using all or 1/2 bacon drippings/grease instead of all butter or margarine...

has a distinct taste, very 'comfort food' for me.

Anyone else ever heard of that?

We don't make them very often as I am sure they aren't all that great for us...but once in a blue moon they are good. We call them Grandma Benson s ---a little way to remember my Mom that the kids never got to meet.
