We let the kids open 1 gift on Christmas Eve. Then we all get up Christmas and open the rest of the gifts. Then we all get dressed and go out to eat breakfast.

We can't buy presents early around here.

My husband and son can't keep presents until Christmas Day! They get so excited for the receiver. It took me years to figure out why my Christmas Eve present was always jammies as a child. Now that I am a Mom, I get it. PICTURES!!! What a great ! Now Michael gets to open 2 presents on Christmas Eve. Jammies and something very small like a Hot Wheel.

We usually have a small dinner on Christmas eve (just my nuclear family and parents and inlaws). The boys are allowed to pick one gift to open on Christmas eve. On Christmas day, we get up real early to open presents (just the 4 of us) then we go upstairs to my inlaws to open gifts with them and my bils. Then we usually go to one of my aunts' house for a huge dinner with all of the family there. Then back to my inlaws for dessert.

Since we usually aren't near family for Christmas our only tradition is to put our tree up the day after Thanksgiving. We'll have to see how that goes this year as we are staying with my mom this year.

My Christmas tradition is changed from when I was growing up.My parents split up up when I was really little. So,it was more of a trying to cram both sides and grandparents in,in a manner of days.
Now,I have three kids own to make traditions for.We always make it a point to go and look at all the Christmas decorations aqnd lightas around the area.Sevral times during the Christams season. We go visit Santa Claus.
I make a point to take my kids to a nursing home where my grandmother was at.(She p***ed away this past Oct.)And p*** out homemade goodies we make. This yaer will be hard. But,I don't see why we shouldn't go.We have made some nice there.
I let the kids open one present the night before Christmas.I can't it when I see those puppydog eyes begging me.
On Christmas Eve,we start off by having dinner and exchanging presents at my father and stepmother's house.
On Christmas the kids open their presents and have a nice big Christmas breakfast with all the breakfast trimming I can make.
Later on,On Christmas day.we travel to my mothers house or my sisters house. And have a family dinner and exchange presents some more.

Also we always start decorating for christams the day after thanksgiving.

My favorite pre Christmas tradition is that my girls and I decorate my mom and dads tree. We always have Christmas music on and we all around. Our favorite song is Harry Belafonte's calypso version of "Mary's Boy Child" We turn that one up really loud and the girls and my mom and dad do a conga line all thought the house. Every year I watch them with tears in my eyes because it is moment of pure joy for everyone.

We always have Christmas at my mom's with my sister and brother and their spouses. We have big dinner, go to church and then open presents. My husband and I give our girls their presents from us then too. Santa leaves one "big" present unwrapped under the tree for them on Christmas .
