Obama is our 44th president

Last night was very exciting around here. History was made and an African American won the presidency. I am very happy. I also like to add that McCain was a gentleman and a great American when he conceded. He praised Obama and wants to work with him. Obama did the same, calling him a great American. I am not a republican but, McCain sincerity showed and at that moment, I knew that we are going towards the America we all want and love. Of course this is my opinion.

One thing that saddens me is that so many people looked at this as black vs. white. There were many people that I know that would not vote for one or the other based on skin color. It is 2008, shouldn't we be past this? I really don't care if the Presidnt is purple, as long as he is able to get the job done. Sorry, if I sound preachy, but i just wanted to put my 2-cents in.

This is just historic and I think hes the man for great change and I dont care if he was orange as long as the job gets done thats all I care about and it really shows the kids you can be whatever you set out to be no matter what. I cant wait till he takes over and makes changes I know it will take a year or so to fix the mistakes made but im sure it will take a while.

He is going to be watched so closely for a mis-step. It is a real shame that his grandmother wasn't here to enjoy it. I hope that everyone realizes that he can't fix things overnight.
