Angry Stolen bike

My oldest son's bike was stolen Monday night. It wasn't a new or really good bike but that is not the point. It him since it was bought for him by my mom (at a yard sale) and since she died he hates to get rid of anything from her. Of course we called the police but there is really nothing to be done. Just wanted to complain a little. Thanks for letting me.
Amy

Poor kid. If only the thieves knew how much they hurt others when they steal :(

OOHHHHH that is so exasperating!! We've had that happen in our community a few times. The sad part is it is usually teens who are up to no good. They don't really want the bike ... they just want to be destructive and also to see what they can get away with. Around here you can usually find what's left of the bike lying in a creek or the woods.

I feel for your son ... it was a precious memory to him.

Awww. to hear that Amy. I was going to say the same as Mechele, its usually teens that should know better but have nothing better to do than be destructive. I hope they get caught and your son's bike ends up coming home.

That is so awful Amy next time you get another bike go to your police station and get it etched if he finds a similar bike those numbers can be checked. It might not at all but, it is something. I live in the big city and we have the bikes and cell phones etched. I am because, your mom got him that bike, people are so mean spirited.

Just wanted to let you know that the police have found David's bike. They saw a kid riding it and chased him to get it. I was surprised when they called to say that they found it. I figured we would never see it again. I guess sometimes good things do happen.

That is wonderful they found the bike. Your son must be so happy now. Its not that often bikes get found so this was meant to be.
Good for your son in getting his bike back. I am happy for him.

How wonderful!!!!!!!!

Shortly after I posted originally ... my son's bike was stolen from our association pool. He was so . Thing is, he's certain he knew who did it but has no proof. A friend of his found it a few days later in the wooded area near the pool ... it was trashed. They bent the wheels, broke out several spokes, stole the seat, burned the rubber tread on the tires and bent the frame. We had to put it in the trash. He is so as he used that bike to go everywhere. What's worse is the rage that was used to trash the bike. Evidently there is a kid that is a year older than my son and he doesn't like my son at all. If I EVER find proof to proof any of the things my son says this kid does to him ... I WILL PROSECUTE there's no doubt about that.

Anyway ... I'm so happy to hear the police found your son's bike ... God is awesome!!!

I hope you find out who did that to your sons bike. I really have to wonder about kids that do things like that. I mean, what are they learning at home?

Mechele to hear about your son's bike. I sure would be on the watch to try and catch that kid in the act of doing something so you could go after him alright.
Some kids don't get any attention, good or bad at home and they lash out this way. Too bad. This kid needs .

Thanks. The really sad part is that I'm the Chairperson of our community's Crime Watch Program!!! We have over 800 homes in our community and they are still building. It's the largest HOA community is Indiana. It's just amazing how much people really aren't aware of their surroundings. Live and learn.

What you say is true but Crime Watch or not, you can't be home watching all the time so don't go feeling like something you did or didn't do was wrong.
This happens, in the middle of the night. Are you going to sit by the window all night and watch? It happens. Just it happened to you.

You're right ... you're definitely right; however, his bike was stolen in the middle of the day with approximately 50 people watching the person ride off on his bike!! These are all repeat people at the pool and parents know other kids' bikes because we see them all the time ... the same kids over and over. I can go to the pool and look at most of the bikes sitting out there and I can usually say that one is so and so's bike and that one belongs to, etc. and the kids definitely know. When we spoke to them about it, many of them said yeah, it was a ... and they gave a description and all said they didn't really recognize the person but they could describe the kid. But the fact that they all just let the kid ride off on the bike!!!!

Well that doesn't say much for the parents sitting there watching this bike being stolen does it? I can understand kids not wanting to tattle and get beat up or something but parents who sit and just watch? Gee what is this world coming to?
