Today

I took the kids to the beach tonight when I got home from work. It was the first time we had gone in a long time.

I saw lots of things. Of course, there were the hunky guys running up and down the beach. But there was one particular cutie that sort of broke my heart...he was running like the rest of the guys except he was wearing his combat boots. I guess he was trying to stay in shape knowing he would be back in harm's way. He was so sweet and young. Made me worry for him and his family.

I built a sand castle with a large moat with my son. He informed me the reason it did not withstand the tide coming in was because I made my moat walls too tall and thin. It was fun just being in the sand with him.

I walked into the water with my middle daughter. She kept reassuring me that the seaweed would not eat me! She is such a joy.

My oldest daughter ed me walk back to the car. She always lets me know I can count on her.

Overall, today was filled with reminders of different ways God provides and cares for me. Nothing instills the awesomeness of Him better than watching the waves crash on the shore.

What did you see today?

Living in Santa Barbara, I'm able to see the ocean often also. I meet a friend early on Saturday s for a walk. We almost always end up on the shore. There is just nothing like the sound and smell of the ocean.

Someday I hope to be able to see, smell and walk in the ocean water.

I didn't see much other than my two grandchildren who we babysat today. I just sat and marvelled at how quick they learn today. I listened to the hearty on Aiden and thought how nice it is to hear ter. So many kids today have nothing to about. It makes me sad.

DeeDee, you can come to the ocean with me!

Today was a wonderful day spent with my kids. My oldest daughter is spreading cake batter in a cake pan. She looks so serious while working on it.

I took my mom to the grocery store today (she has alzheimers). My middle child went with me. She was so patient and kind with my mom. It was sweet.

My son was a champ ing me with dinner. He cleared the table off for me and washed it.

And then something happened at dinner that almost changed our lives forever. My son got choked on a tortilla chip. I was across the table and unable to reach him as quick but my oldest daughter ed up and grabbed her brother and performed the Hiemlich manuever and saved his life. It was quite scary. She actually had to do it twice. He is quite bigger than she is, but she actually lifted him off the ground. She is usually kind of and flighty but when she saw her brother's life in danger, BAM! She acted quickly and acurately and saved him. It was amazing. She is really growing up. I am very proud of her.

Wow thats great I live about 1 hour away from the beach but never seem to get there. Life goes by so fast but sounds like you had a great time with them. I wish my kids were as thoughtful as yours but my boys with autism never seem to get with the program though sometimes they try . Its great you had such a lovely time though have fun

Aww Crystal I wish I could go to the beach with you. Hang on til I win that lottery.
You did a great job of raising your kids. Thankfully your daughter knew what to do. That would have been so scarey.

I was babysitting the other day and my grandson Aiden who is 22 months old is so quick about things. I had Ava on the couch changing her clothes, she is 7 months old and Aiden came up beside her and dropped a nacho in her mouth. Yes she started to choke and I got all panicky. Thankfully I got it out and she was okay but if the piece had been any bigger I hate to think about it.

Kids are so quick, you need a dozen pair of eyes from each side of your head. I was right there with her and that is how quick it happened.

Anyhow, glad your son is okay. Someday I will sit at the beach with you.
