Chuck E Cheese Parties

Has anyone had a bday party there ?
Have you attended one there ?

I have taken DD to 2 parties at chuck e cheese, both by the same person. I wasn't happy both times. I don'tknow if its the person or the place.

Each time the bday child wasn't at the table to greet her guests.
In fact my child was left basically on her own. She is shy, so she'd just sit at the table alone. I'd stay w/ ds, but get a table away from the party, get him lunch & tokens.

After the pizza and cake, I'd feel for DD & go get her.
I'd take her to play games. The bday childs mom, never even noticed. The bday child wouldn't open her gifts. We'd have to search for her to say Good-Bye.

It all seemed very impersonal. This time DD asked the girl to open her gift. The child did so, but she grabbed the gifts, tossing them out of the giftbag. One was a high school musical bag, she tossed it to her mom, not even looking at it. She moved the box which was a Hannah Montana made your own headbands kit.
(which dd drooled over) as if she was looking for something else.
not seeing it, open the card, not reading it, but OPENING it,
no money ! The mom said Thank you not the child.

The last , I know was the child being rude.
But has anyone had a good experiance w/ a party there ?

Like I said, it just seems so impersonal

My DD is 9 now but, I gave her a party there for her 5th birthday. We were there to greet the guest and when it was time for free play, the kids went to play. I am not shy but, if we notice someone not having fun we tried our best to makethem feel comfortable, we took them to play with us. Gifts no matter how small or large were appreciated the same. I have always told my DD that not everyone has the money for large gifts and when someone gives you something is fromt he heart. I think is those people, they are rude. I bet the only reason she makes the party at Chuck E. Cheeses is for bragging rights. Your daughter would have some serious fun at my DD parties she likes themes and no one is left out. All her coutnt.
You would have given those gifts to my daughter she would have been short of doing cartwheels , High School Musical stuff and Hannah Montana in the same day.I remember one time on her 8th birthday this one was Hello Kitty, one little girl said she only hada card my daughter accepted the card, read it out loud and made a big fuss over it. I asked my daughter why she did that, and my daughter said without missing a beat, mom just like you said her gift was from the heart. I was so proud of my DD then. Don't got to those parties anymore. What a spoiled brat.
