Kindergarden Registration

Well today I took Aly down to register for fall, she really surprised me. I thought for sure she would have a screaming fit like she did last night here before bed. I find out in May what session she is in. I am hoping she is in the am class. At least she wants to go back now since she saw they have a play kitchen, little does she know there is not a lot of playtime in kindergarden anymore. its amazing what they learn this year. things sure have changed since Nikki went to this school.

Congratulations to Aly!

I take Sasha to testing on the 16th to see if she can be enrolled in early kindergarten. I want her in now even though she will only be 4 when school starts, but will turn 5 on November 1. She has known her ABC's and numbers since she was 2 and just seems very gifted. We are even trying to teach her to read already but she mostly memorizes the pages.

I'm glad you brought up tying shoe laces though. We tried that with her a couple years ago but she couldn't figure out the l and like you, we use velcro and zipper shoes. Guess I better get working with her.

Wow...I guess I didn't realize how old Aly is. I thought she was 3 for some reason.

My kinder kid likes it alright. He hates that he has to do the samethings over and over and over. Like getting up in the ... He is NOT a person.

He finally likes his teacher. I told her and she just ed and ed. He even took her an apple one day and a granola bar another.

Aly will do just fine. What about mom?

I take Sasha today for screening. I've been mad since yesterday though and have to find out what's happening when we go today. I called the county health office to get her shot records and was talking to the lady telling her we were going for kindgarten screening and she tells me that no, this is only for pre-kindergarten which is like a preschool. I said to her, but she was smart enough for kindergarten last year, why would I still hold her back? So I'm ... ...

Anyway, I'm hoping things go well for her. They sent a letter E home for us to practice for the eye test and we told her it was a game. She loves it! But, she came home last night with the begining of a and by the time she went to bed, it was getting worse. I ran the vaporizer, but she still had an awful night ing. Poor thing!

Well we got a letter in the mail about a week ago. I have to take Aly back for another evaluation as she showed areas of weakness. What they are looking at I am not sure, yes she isnt as educated as Nicole was at this age but she wont sit still for anything. She is up with the sun and doesn't sit still for anything, esp now that it is warm out. she is outside when nikki gets on the bus and doesn't come back in til lunch and a nap, IF I can convince her to lay down. then back outside til the sun goes down. Dont get me wrong she knows her letters, colors and shapes. and some of her numbers. She can also spell A L Y and can recognize alycen when she sees it. I hope to know more after they see her on Wednesday. They said we would know what class she was in by the end of May but that was before this letter. I am ing for am class so that she will be better behaved.

My daughter is finishing up kindergarten. A full day kindergarten (8-3). Before they leave to first grade, she has to know how to tie shoes, count to 100, count by 2s and 5s. She has to know how to write her full name, address and telephone number.

She is reading now. She reads books based on tons of sight words she learned over the year. She also knows subtraction and addition as well. She is also working on money and the clock.

So I know to be prepared for all that, in preschool, she had to know how to write her name already, know all her colors and how to recognize the word on paper, and shapes and their names on paper. They have to know how to undress themselves and use the restroom on their own.

She has learned so much this year. But she hated not having more play time and hates getting up in the . The girl has homework every night and has a spelling test of 8 words each week! She also started at 4 years old and turned 5 Sept. 18.
