Tonight I went through my pantry and decided to eat whatever I find so I will make en and rice Puertorican style, and beans. Home made strawberry limeade. I found some frozen strawberries from the summer in the back of the freezer. I found one pound box of rice so I will use that.

Today was my company picnic. They made fried fish (I did not eat!), hushpuppies (okay...maybe a few of those), pulled BBQ (I was all over that!), hotdogs (just one!) and hamburgers (none), potato salad (okay, got me on that one too) macaronie salad (must I confess?) and cupcakes (maybe one.....or two), brownies (uh, huh, you did not think I was going to pass up chocolate?????) and cake (did not go there at least). It was fun and the kids had a blast.

Persian is like the same thing as Iranian. Iran was called Persia, but the people/cuisine still call it by their old name.

I've been cooking all . One of those days where I'm a little hyper LOL. I've got a huge pot of chili. My mother loves chili but doesn't like Mexican foods so what I do is make a huge pot of chili then I split it up. She gets 1/2 and then the rest goes to us. I "doctor" up the chili and use it for Enchiladas or Mexican pizzas. I've also got a meatloaf in the oven so if someone doesn't want chili/Mexican tonight then they can have the meatloaf and tomorrow they will eat the Mexican and the rest of us will have meatloaf. Works for me

Hey Tiffysmom ... one of my boys is Puerto Rican and he misses the Puerto Rican meals. Do you have any recipes you'd be willing to share with me? If so, they have to be easy cuz I'm not good at cooking Puerto Rican cooking ... at least that's what he tells me LOL. He says I can't do the rice at all!!! LOL ...
