Since we were racing out the door to get to church, we had grilled cheese and creamy tomato soup with goldfish crackers sprinkled on top.

After about a month of either being out of town or moving (we got the house!!!) and unpacking (still doing the latter), I am finally cooking a meal for the family tonight. I took a london broil out of the freezer this , so I will soak in some marinade this afternoon before cooking it. I am thinking of running to the farmer's market for some fresh tomatoes, lettuce, and cucumbers for a salad to go with the meat and will probably take a short cut and serve tater tots as the starch side dish.
The new house has a dishwasher, so I no longer worry so much about making dirty when I cook. We are having a hard time filling it so we can run it because of all of the take-out and microwave meals that we have been having because of the move.

Thanks Nancy,

Spent the day unpacking boxes and doing other chores so I never did make it to the farmers' market. Had the london broil with some frozen veggies and perogies instead.
Today I have work, so I am not sure what dinner will end up being. Maybe fish sticks and tater tots as we haven't had them in a long time and they are quick and easy to fix.
It was nice to serve a real meal again for a change - and everyone liked it, too. But, between using a new stove (gas) and having to stop and think where I had put things when I unpacked them a couple of weeks ago, it was a bit of an adventure just getting dinner on the table. Made it sort of fun instead of automatic.

Only worked 1/2 a day and dd is at her writers' group this evening. I am taking the day off from unpacking, too. Tonight, the dh and I will fend for ourselves for dinner and maybe I'll get some reading done - or get to be early instead.
