Saturday nights here is burger and fry night
my dad well he had pork, corn and noodles
yes cooked extra special for him
but we eat burgers on saturdays
Thank you for clearing that up Bruinsmama! I have looked all over the internet for carfis! I was dying to find out what it was. I thought it was an Italian or Jewish dish. I am all about new recipes.
Tonight we had 250 business cards, a plate of en and rice with green beans: in addition, Kylan d on packets of taco sauce, ketchup, mayonaise, mustard, chinese sauces and watched them squirt all over the kitchen and mommy's new business cards, which had already been smeared with the en concoction, and then proceeded poured a gallon of milk on mommy's carpet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is what my son made in the kitchen in the time it took me to tinkle!!!!!!! (approx 1 minute) I thought I was going to string him up by his toes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He brought the milk jug to me as I was zipping my pants and shook it and said "all gone gone" I came around the corner and this is the mess I found!!!!! I have never seen such a mess in my life!!!! He looked so proud, and I know I looked like the wicked witch of the west. He saw the look on my face and his bottom lip poked out soooo far, I thought he was going to trip over it. And of course, started balling, because he knew mommy was NOT impressed with his project. SOOOOOOOOOOOO, we had spaghettiO's n PB&J sandwiches with fruit and he went to bed!!!! I cleaned for 3 hours to get my house right back into the shape it was in prior to the science project. 3 hours of cleaning for 1 minute of distruction.
To top it all off, as I cleaned his plate off the table, I tripped on a car in the floor and dumped everything into the floor I had just cleaned. He just looked up and said "mommy made mess" I had to !!!! Of course, then I said "Yes, mommy DID make a mess, but watch mommy clean up her mess. That's what you should do when you make a mess." He ed at me and ran off! uuuugggghhhh! The terrible, sassy, gotta love 'em two's!!!!
That's what WE had for dinner tonight!!!

By the way lulu, I never ate a green pepper and liked it until I was 27 years old. Now I'm 30 an dthrow them in everything I can. I try things I don't like every year to see if I can break the dislike and aquire a tast for it. Kevin got me hooked on green peppers. The only things I have not conquered are curry and raw onions. I CAN NOT handle them. They actually make me . Like, all out . I smell them and I get , literally. But I did eventually conquer the bell pepper deal, so maybe your kids will too. Good Luck - Secret, I do this all the time because Kevin loved big chunks of Onion and I hated them. Put them in half of the loaf. That way you are all happy. They are not going to taste the peppers in their half. Just tell them it's like a specialty pizza, only meatloaf! heehee

Angie, you are too funny!!! What a mess! I am sooo glad we are past the two year old stage, HOWEVER some 8 year olds can make JUST as big a mess!! My daughter can really take out a kitchen! As for dinner.....it was fend for yourself night! They had sandwiches!

My cousin has a "what's for dinner girls?" night. They have a 5 year old and an 8 year old (both girls). Every Thursday night, they go to the grocery store and let the girls pick out what's for dinner and they have come up with some concoctions, but it is always a fun night for the family. Of course, mommy and daddy always have a back up plan for after the girls go to bed, but it makes them feel like little chef's. They make their own presentations and/or menus and serve the parents. It makes them feel so special. I know you said your little one was interested in being a chef. This might be a little fun for her. I wish I were closer, I would come over for "what's for dinner" night.

Lulu, I like green peppers too and what I do is put them in the blender and chop them really fine, so they are not seen. My husband will eat them then.....usually doesn't even know they are there!!
Tonight, we are having barbequed beef, french fries, and a salad.

That is a great Becky! I do have a ~killer~ Cuisanart food processor. It is only a mini size one that I got from Amazon.com for $12.00 but it sure works great!
I think we are going to have hamburgers and hotdogs for dinner tonight! If I get off the puter and carry my lazy butt to the store, that is!!
