Beer and Pepsi??? You have an adventurous spirit! I would have never thought of both!
We had peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and bottled water at the local park called Mt. Trashmore. Yes, Trashmore. It used to be a city dump but they covered it with dirt and converted to a wonderful park. I walked up and down the mountain four times....got kick MS's hold on my body! We had a good time.

I rememer the contest where they got the name for Mount Trashmore. Yes, I am really that old and a true native of that area. Even if I am now a Valley girl - Shenandoah Valley, that is.
I usually saute my stew meat or hamburger for casseroles in either beer or wine. This time I added the beer (maybe 1/4 to 1/3 of a cup) after the meat was already seasoned and browned, and the veggies (corn and tomaotes) had been added. With the addition of a can of tomatoes, I needed something to sweeten it and bring out the tomato flavor. A splash of Pepsi was the easiest way to do it.
Adventurous, maybe. Delicious, definitely.
I would still rather have eaten with Bruinsmama. Shrimp on the barbie with a salad and wine sounds sooo good right now. Especially as I am sure she is sitting on her new deck enjoying herself.
The pantry seems almost empty of things I use all of the time. It is a good thing that my dh was out of town for a week. Fortunately the freezer is still full and if I wanted to try something different I could use what is in there and get really creative - not like I haven't done that before.
Anyway, tonight is spaghetti w/ sauce and Italian sausauge. I had work today and have more tomorrow. If more checks come in, I can go on Friday - unless work comes in for then, too.
You won't be happy with more until you're happy with what you've got.
I am beginning to learn that it is the sweet simple things of life which are the real ones after all.

Well for supper tonight, My Ex and His wife took me and Both daughters, and Brittany out to a Steak house for supper. I had a New York Strip steak sliced on a bed of cooked onions, and cooked red peppers, with a baked sweet potatoe with cinimon and butter. and a toasted salad, and Homemade bread.
it was great. Then they had brought a Birthday cake, because, it was Angela's 34 th birthday. We all had a good time.
It was nice of them to take me too.
That is that you have a good relationship with the EX, Nancy. Good for you! I wish that I did. Plus that steak sounded yummy!
Nick, Paulina and I had fish sticks and french fries. My oldest had mini corndogs and mashed potatoes.... where do her tastebuds come from??? MARS?
Then we made a marble cake with homemade buttercream chocolate frosting. YUM.

I am with both my exes. Seems strange to some. I just became with my first husband, my kids Dad about 3 years ago. His wife is nice, and We get along good. Trying to get along Our kids are grown up , but we have little Brittany who is 8. So It will be nice to have Gramps in the picture too.
Amy way we had a good time. For supper tonight we had shrimp scampi, and some macoroni and cheese, and baked beans, and cottage cheese. Kind of a weird assortment I guess.
I was planning on making a nice homemade dinner but my exhaustion has overwhelmed me. My DH came home and found me ing in the kitchen so he took charge and ordered pizza. That was very sweet of him. I am glad that I don't have to make myself cook!!!
Chris....31 pounds! That is great! You and Marie are doing so wonderful!

Tonight I made the mock hamburger stroganoff (no shooms) that my family liked so much a couple of weeks ago. We also had a tossed salad with some sliced canned pears thrown into it. It was yummy. Can you tell I finally got to go grocery this weekend? Now the pantry, fridge, and freezers are full again. Hallelullah!!! They have already started to make it disappear. I guess they forgot how dull the meals were last week. Maybe they didn't notice because they are not involved in planning most of the menus.
I bet you will drop those two pounds lickety-split unpacking and chasing Duncan around your new yard! Take pictures soon! I wanna see! Love ya!

I have a meeting this afternoon with other homeschoolers in my area to set up an ASL class for the children who want to learn it. Because of the meeting tonight's dinner is fish sticks, tater tots, and another salad.
