Didn't feel like cooking, dh bought himself Long John Silvers (a favorite of his that he hasn't had in about six months or more) I had a hot pocket and the dd made herself some perogies.

Tomorrow is the dh's birthday. So, we will be having breaded pork chops, mashed potatoes and a salad by his request.

I always make the family what they want for their birthday meal. It is a part of my present to them.

For Breakfast I had an omelet with ham and cheese, and a piece of wheat toast with sugar free raspberry jam.
Not sure what lunch will be , I will have to wait and see.

We had ribs (BBQ) rice, cheese gravy and corn. It was yummy but it heated up the house too much.

I have some left over wagon wheel pasta (my dd has renamed it pentacle pasta) that I am using to make up my mexicali casserole tonight.

I have shovelled out about 2/3 of the garden plot as of this afternoon. I hope to get the garden planted by the end of the week. (The garden plot had been a weed/grass bed for about the last 5 or so years according to my neighbors.) I purchased some tomato and pepper plants from the farmers market this weekend as most of our seeds died shortly after sprouting. I hope I can keep them alive long enough to make it into the ground. I can hardly wait until I eat that first home grown tomato.

Bruinsmama,

This is my first garden. I usually kill house plants. I will keep people posted on how it goes. We are using this as part of our science unit in home schooling. If it works out well, we will plant more stuff next year. All I know is that tomatos and peppers need lots of sunlight and our yard definitely has that. We may end up with pumpkin in the front yard as that is where our pumpkin ended up decomposing this past Winter. That will be very interesting.

Spaghetti with home made sauce and re-heated (premade) meatballs and bread. My meatballs never seem to stay together like my Mom's did, so I buy them already made.
